Welcome to Black Mane Tactical, where passion and expertise come together to create a premier firearms training experience. Founded by Lance Gaines in 2021, Black Mane Tactical is the culmination of a lifelong dedication to shooting sports and a professional background rooted in safety and security. After serving as a full-time firefighter and experiencing a career-ending injury, Lance turned his focus to his true passion—empowering individuals through comprehensive firearms education.

Lance is not only an NRA-certified instructor in pistols, rifles, and shotguns, but also a Chief Range Safety Officer and a Massachusetts State Police certified instructor. His extensive experience as a range officer and in private and corporate security has equipped him with unique insights into the practical and ethical dimensions of firearms training. At Black Mane Tactical, we’re committed to fostering a learning environment that respects the serious nature of what we teach while ensuring it is accessible, enjoyable, and profoundly enriching.
